A short history of Old Hill Primary School
The Education Act of 1870 laid down the basis of the beginning of the Rowley Regis board and Old Hill School.
The school buildings were opened for use on the 19th February 1887 and were shared by two schools, the Infants School teaching children up to the age of six years and a Girls School teaching children from seven years to thirteen years of age. The Headmistress of the Infants School was Eleanor Cook. The School had 81 children and three members of staff. The Headmistress of the Girls School was Mercy Attwood-Fellows. The School had accommodation for 190 children in two classrooms. The children were taught by the Head Teacher, a pupil teacher, Polly Woodhall and Martha Hingley.
